Listen, I still get scared all the time. When I'm out in the field in dangerous situations, I am totally fearful. In many ways, I think that my fear is what has kept me safe. You know, our fears can help us be more prepared. I get nervous before I walk into a big important meeting. I speak to hundreds of thousands of people on a stage and I still get butterflies.
There is something that I say to myself when I'm in those moments. I say, "Laura, you can do this, you got through being held captive in North Korea. You can handle this." Now that works for me. That kind of gives me a little reset, calms me down. But I would say what is that mantra for you? Is there a mantra that can help just kind of quell those fears and to allow you to actually go out and take on that fear.
