What Is the Value of Soft Skills?
Leaders must empower others.
Sisters Barbara Bush and Jenna Bush Hager explain why soft skills are as important as hard skills in leadership.
“We saw through our grandfather real strength and softness and empathy and compassion,” shares Barbara. “Those were often thought of as soft skills, but I'd say they're hard skills in leadership in terms of connecting with others and serving others and leading teams well, letting them know that you love your colleagues so that they want to come to work every day and feel like you see them.”

These twins come from a family familiar with being in the spotlight. Even though their father and grandfather were U.S. presidents, they have been able to forge their own leadership paths.
