Negotiation and deal-making to me, it's a conversation. And one of things I wrote in my book is it's sort of a rhythm built over time.

To me negotiation is about connecting, not just communicating. So it's truly about, in my opinion, getting on the same side of the table with the people that you're negotiating with and attempting to connect. And I think if we approach it with a mindset of being relational in nature versus transactional in nature, we can build a foundation and a conversation that allows us to not just be successful in that negotiation but go back to the table with them in the future.
