How Do You Lead Yourself More Honestly?
Don’t lie to yourself.
“One of the decisions that we have to make if we're going to lead ourselves well, we just have to decide, ‘I'm not going to lie to myself anymore,’” says Andy. “We are all experts on selling ourselves on terrible ideas… At some point, we have to fire that liar, that person who looks at us in the mirror and doesn't allow us to embrace the truth. We just have to decide, ‘You know what, I'm not working for you anymore. I'm going to hire the version of me that is willing to tell myself the truth, even when it makes me feel bad about myself.’”

But oftentimes, we're not willing to let go, until we're first willing to acknowledge, "I'm embracing or I'm believing something that's just not true. I'm going to admit it, I'm gonna feel bad about myself, and then, I'm going to change it." That's the nature of self-leadership.
