Make Better Leadership Decisions Using Leadercast NOW
Creativity is often misunderstood to be reserved for a select group of people—artists, designers, comedians, advertisers, musicians, engineers, architects, etc. But you don’t have to be in a creative field to be inventive. In fact, creativity is an important leadership trait. If you want to innovate in any way, it requires a creative approach to problem-solve and brainstorm to come up with new ideas.
If you want to be creative, you simply need to be willing to imagine things differently. Creativity comes from our experiences and the way in which we interpret them. If you want to become more creative, you can focus on two simple things. First, experiment more—not necessarily through big risks but little things. Second, get flexible in the way you interpret your performance; when something goes wrong you say to yourself, “Great, I will try it differently the next time.”
