Diversity and Inclusion

Studies show that organizations that are more culturally and ethnically diverse are more likely to see higher profits than their less diverse counterparts. When people with different perspectives and backgrounds come together, they are able to use their collective knowledge to problem-solve, which leads to innovation and ground-breaking change. 

“Diversity and inclusion” is a buzz phrase in business today, but the two aren’t one in the same. Diversity refers to the traits and characteristics that make an individual unique, whereas inclusion refers to the behaviors that ensure people feel welcome. As a leader, how are you building a culture that embraces differences among your staff? Be inclusive by being intentional about incorporating different perspectives, educating yourself and your team about best practices around inclusion, and establishing a safe space for people to be themselves.
