Leadership Quotes From Upcoming Leadercast Now Speakers
Our team here at Leadercast recently interviewed and filmed 18 new speakers for Leadercast Now – people with a wide variety of experiences who shared their challenges, solutions and insights about life and leadership. This array of extraordinary leaders was made up of those in their first or second jobs to C-suite execs leading their first or second companies. We spoke with educators and entrepreneurs; authors and speakers; coaches by trade and mentors by choice. Some lead non-profits and others lead global enterprises.
They work in 17 different organizations and nearly a dozen industries; they are creatives and salespeople and marketing gurus and social media experts and community supporters and social entrepreneurs. They are Baby Boomers and Gen-Xers and Millennials. They are a reflection of the people who make up the Leadercast audiences, and the topics they covered were in answer to your requests -- the Leadercast subscribers who participated in our survey several months ago and told us which topics and solutions that would serve them the best.
This recent collection of Leadercast Now speakers spoke of work-life balance; purpose and finding your ‘why;’ the millennial myth; gender equality; team building and collaboration; effective communication and handling conflict; educational support for students in poverty; goal-setting and daily leadership, and much, much more.
They shared their stories of failure and optimism; of physical and personal discipline; of leadership pillars and lessons learned. Their cultural heritage is diverse, and yet they share many common denominators: casting a vision for a better world and how we can contribute to it; the commitment to lifelong learning; a dedication to core values exemplified in both their personal and professional lives.
We are grateful for these visionaries and we look forward to sharing their insights with you throughout the year, in bite-sized, powerful videos and blogs that you can consume to develop your own leadership.
It will be several weeks until their videos debut, but while our team is in post-production, I thought I’d give you a sneak peek at a few of our most recent speakers’ words of wisdom:
“Sometimes one conversation can turn a person’s life around.” – Robbi Crawford, founder of BrijBrand; “The Student’s Mentor;” sociologist; author; speaker
“When we’re interviewing potential new hires, the first things we look for are the 5 C’s – character, class, confidence, chemistry and competency.” – Glen Jackson, inspirational leader and co-founder of Jackson Spalding, a top Atlanta-based marketing communications agency
“The first steps to take when seeking more balance is to identify the why: what would you do if you had more time, energy and resources? Next, list what you’re currently balancing so you can assess and prioritize.” -- Tricia Molloy, corporate leadership speaker on Work-Life Balance; author of Working with Wisdom
“If you filter all decisions by this one question -- which decision is going to lead to the best version of myself? -- you will never go wrong. Every time you strive to be the best version of yourself, you are aligning with that innate sense of truth and universal purpose. And that will add the most significant value and impact not only to yourself, but to those around you.” – Yovany Jerez, lead organizational and leadership development at AT&T
“Believe it or not, I’ve found some of my best mentors at the gym. I get there at 5 a.m., and that is an example of my discipline and goal-setting. From there, it’s easy to start a conversation with like-minded people.” – Alex Hailstock, solutions specialist at UPS; fitness authority, actor/model and personal development mentor
“A failure does not have to feel like one. Your past does not define your future.” -- John Williams, founder and president at Life that Counts, a non-profit, peer-to-peer mentoring organization
“Gravity wants to pull you down – words like sag, stoop, slouch, settle, sink, slump. Instead – think up! Stand up. Rise up. Get up. Shape up. If you’re not thinking it, you’re not doing it.” – Kimo Kimura, former professional dancer; founder of Perfect Health Pilates; chiropractor
