Brian Wells’ entrepreneurial ventures kicked off at the age of nine when his mom caught him selling his deceased grandfather’s belongings to the neighbor kids out of the family garage. It was Brian’s first lesson in how even the most brilliant ideas can be limited by lack of partner alignment.
Today, as co-founder of Flashlight Entertainment, Brian oversees creative development and television packaging focused on broadcast, cable and digital entertainment for the whole family.
After beginning his career in public affairs with Illinois Governor James R. Thompson, Brian worked for a decade in marketing at Procter & Gamble where he also served as a speechwriter for P&G senior officers.
His work has included movies, specials and series for NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox and Hallmark Channel, including serving as executive producer on 15 movies for television. As part of this work, he has developed branded entertainment for Walmart, Microsoft, Procter & Gamble, Pepsi, J.M. Smucker, ConAgra and FedEx. In 2014, Advertising Age recognized two of his broadcast movies as one of the “The Top 10 Product Placements of the Last 10 Years”, calling them “the holy grail of branded entertainment.”
Outside of his work in entertainment, Brian has founded and led work to combat child trafficking in South Asia, resulting in more than $2 million investment to date in rescue and rehabilitation. Brian is also co-founder of Crossroads Church, a big giant church that still thinks like a startup in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Brian has a degree in advertising from the University of Illinois and cat-like reflexes. He lives in Cincinnati with his wife and two children.
